Five States Recognized for Banning RCV

As we’ve noted, five more states have banned ranked-choice voting so far this year. That doubles the number of states that have taken this step to protect their voters. It also means five times more states have banned RCV than use it at the state level.
The American Legislative Exchange Council recognized these states this week, noting that RCV is “more likely to exacerbate rather than mitigate elections problems.” Many members of the Stop RCV Coalition worked to advance model policy against RCV at ALEC, as well as engaging to produce the wins across so many states.
